Ospreys hit Bridgend ahead of Leicester game

Ospreys players will be out and about in Bridgend this week ahead of Friday's LV= Cup game against Leicester Tigers at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field.

Preparations for the game kick off on Tuesday morning when members of the squad will be on Caroline Street in Bridgend town centre between 10am and 11am to promote the match, meeting fans and signing autographs, while a selection of Ospreys inflatables will also be set up, weather permitting, allowing fans the chance to enjoy the interactive fun.

Then, on Thursday, the matchday 23 will go through their final run ahead of the game at an open training session being held at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field from 11am.

A number of local schools have already been invited along to watch, and that invitation is extended to all Ospreys fans, who are welcome to attend and enjoy a rare opportunity to observe the players in training.

Ospreys Managing Director, Roger Blyth, said that Friday night was building up to be a great occasion, and these visits by the players ahead of the game would all add to that:

“It’s going to be something special on Friday, the first time that the Ospreys have hosted a competitive fixture in Bridgend, and I’m delighted by the way that the local community have welcomed us.

“We will have members of our squad out and about in the town centre on Tuesday morning so it’s a great opportunity for the Bridgend public to come along and meet some of them and get some autographs and pictures.

“Thursday morning will see us doing something we’ve never done before, opening up our final training run ahead of the game to the public so that they can come along and watch it. We have a number of local schools confirmed as coming, but it’s not just for them, it’s an opportunity for anyone who supports the Ospreys to get a real insight into our match preparation before we play Leicester on Friday.

“It’s all building up to be a great occasion, with the rugby public of Bridgend showing just how much they feel a part of Ospreylia.”

Tickets for the game are on sale now at both the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field and the Liberty Stadium, as well as online at www.ospreysrugby.com and via the Ticket Hotline on 08700 400 004.
