Ospreys go green for LV= Cup clash

The Ospreys today took the wraps off a new 3rd shirt that will be worn for the first time when they face Northampton Saints at the Liberty Stadium in the LV= Cup on Thursday evening (November 5th, KO 7.45pm).

The new shirt, which is a fusion of rich and sumptuous greens, set against purples and strong blues, along with the traditional Ospreys black, will be available to pre-order from the same day, with delivery expected the following week

Ospreys Managing Director Roger Blyth commented:

“Year in, year out, we have seen that there is phenomenal demand for Ospreys shirts, with our traditional black and white shirts being snapped up not only across the region, but also, the length and breadth of the UK and beyond. Last season, we sold more than 47,000 shirts making it the second biggest selling shirt in the UK and Ireland, and the response to this year’s shirts, launched just a few months ago, has been equally impressive.

“We are always looking at innovative ways to meet this demand and we believe that this shirt will prove just as popular with supporters as our regular jerseys. We went for a predominantly green shirt this time as we wanted something symbolic of our region, and we feel is representative of the hills and fields that run right throughout Ospreylia, with the range of blues representing our coastal location.

“We’ve previously released limited edition lilac and orange shirts that went down well with fans, and I think that Kooga have come up with another striking looking shirt, I’m sure that we’ll see plenty of Ospreys fans proudly wearing green in the Liberty Stadium in the coming weeks.”

Bill Newton, Managing Director of shirt manufacturer Kooga, said:

“We have enjoyed an excellent relationship with the Ospreys over the last six years and never cease to be amazed by the popularity of their shirts, which we supply to retailers nationwide. The Ospreys share our progressive outlook on kit, and our desire to produce innovative, eye catching jerseys that are both technically superior and cutting edge.

“This new shirt is particularly striking, and is a radically different shirt to anything we have supplied them with before. The strong sublimated pattern of swirling greens is a strong representation of the region, and being very much on trend right now I would expect that this shirt will prove to another hit with supporters.”

The new 3rd shirt is priced at £49.95 for adults and £39.95 for juniors. Season ticket holders and members can claim their 10 per cent discount by using their discount key fobs at the time of purchase.
