Visitors to Blasus, NPTC Group of colleges training restaurant, had an early Christmas treat when the Ospreys arrived to join them for a festive lunch on Friday.
Around 45 players and back room staff tucked in to a three-course Christmas lunch at the popular restaurant based on the Neath Campus. The squad were served turkey with all the trimmings by hospitality and catering students who also prepared the feast.
It’s the second year in a row that the players have dined at Blasus for their December lunch and it proved not only a treat for them but staff students and visitors also.
The restaurant has been training students and serving the community for more than 30 years. Paul Pearce, Deputy Head of Hospitality and Catering at the College, said:
“It’s great to welcome the Ospreys back. We pride ourselves on preparing and serving good quality food and this is a great experience for all those involved. It’s a great testimony for us that the Ospreys decided to come back again and we are delighted that the team enjoyed their Christmas lunch and we look forward to them visiting us again.”
Steve Tandy, Head Coach, said the team were grateful for the invite:
“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal last year so when the team were asked back for this Christmas is really was a no-brainer for us, it was just a case of arranging a suitable date. As a business we are all about development so it’s fantastic that we can support local youngsters as they set out on their careers in catering with NPTC Group. As a group we are all grateful that we were asked along on Friday, as part of our preparations for Sunday’s game in Italy against Zebre and we all look forward to our next visit.”
