Ospreys face Saracens in age-grade fixtures

The Eyasses will go head-to-head with Saracens at Llandarcy next week in a double-header fixture.

The games against the Aviva Premiership club’s age-grade teams have become a regular part of pre-season for both parties, but this is the first time that the Eyasses have hosted both games at the same venue.

The two matches will be played on Tuesday 14th August, with the U16’s meeting at midday before the U18’s kick-off at 2.00pm.

Youth Performance Manager, Damian Karauna, said that the two games would be a good test for the Eyasses:

“Saracens are familiar opponents for the Eyasses now with the two clubs having built up a good relationship which has seen us meeting in pre-season for a number of years now” explained Karauna.

“They have a strong age-grade set-up as befits a club of their standing in the game and they always provide a stern test, which makes them perfect pre-season opposition.

“We named our new U16 squad last week and the boys will be keen to play their first game as a group, while the U18’s are looking to continue with their development as a number of players from last season’s U16 group bed in for the first time.

“It will be a good afternoon of rugby and a great opportunity for supporters to come along to show their support for the boys and enjoy a good look at the next generation of Ospreys.”
