Ospreys enjoying unprecedented demand for

As they prepare for next week's RaboDirect PRO12 Final against Leinster in Dublin, the Ospreys have received a welcome boost with the news that season memberships for the 2012/13 campaign have already soared past the final figure for the current season less than four weeks after going on sale.

Over 4,000 memberships have already been issued, with the region on target to reach an all-time record high over the coming weeks, as supporters look to embrace the region following an exciting end of season run-in that will culminate on Sunday 27th May when the Ospreys bid to become the first team ever to claim four Celtic League crowns.

The current season membership figure stands higher than the final total issued throughout the whole of last summer for 2011/12 and currently shows no sign of slowing down.

The overwhelming response to the groundbreaking 2012/13 membership packages has understandably delighted Ospreys bosses, who say the response is indicative of the feelgood factor at the region at the moment.

“It’s a wonderful achievement to have already passed this season’s total inside less than a month, with one more fixture still to be played this season and more than three months remaining before the first PRO12 game of 2012/13” said Ospreys Managing Director, Roger Blyth.

“We have been up front and honest about our primary aim next season, which is to increase the number of people coming to watch the Ospreys week-in, week-out. We’ve seen over the last few home games that the appetite to support top class rugby in the region is out there, with big crowds generating two wonderful atmospheres in the Dragons and Munster games, and the players have responded accordingly.

“We’ve definitely felt something of a feelgood factor around the place in recent weeks, and that has clearly carried across into season membership sales. To have surpassed the current season’s total well before the end of May is unprecedented, absolutely incredible, and we are genuinely excited about how many members we could have for next season.

“Membership packages are deisgned to encourage the local community to get behind their region. It’s crucial for our future that we grow our support base. We want every matchday at the Liberty to be played in front of the kind of crowds we’ve seen recently.”

With prices starting at just £165 for an adult season membership when purchased before the Earlybird deadline of June 11th, it means that you can watch EVERY single one of the Ospreys 17 home games for next season at just £9.70 per match – or 45p per day – offering an incredible saving of 54% on matchday admission. What’s more, the Ospreys are rewarding EVERY single season membership with a buy one, get one free offer, meaning members can purchase two for the price of one (free membership not available to any person registered as a season-ticket holder in 2011/12).

Once again, we are offering FREE membership for all U16’s, with up to four going free with a paying adult – with the buy one get one free offer meaning mum and dad plus four children can enjoy a whole season of first class rugby entertainment at the Liberty Stadium for just £165 or £9.70 a game – just about the cost of admission for one adult plus half a hot dog at the cinema!!

Existing members who register a friend or family member for a free membership by the Earlybird deadline will also receive a £50 voucher for the Ospreys Club Shop, while new or returning members who also take advantage of the buy one get one free offer will receive a £25 voucher.

Roger Blyth added:

“With such a buzz about the place at the moment we are confident that membership numbers will continue to rise at an unprecedented rate between now and the start of 2012/13. In particular, we have the Earlybird Deadline on June 11th which traditionally sees a spike in sales, but whenever someone chooses to purchase a membership, be it next week, next month, or at the end of August, they are guaranteed to get a fantastic deal and will be welcomed into the fold by everyone at the Liberty Stadium.”
