Ospreys East U16s 5 - 14 Blues North U16s

Despite a late try, the Eyasses were unable to record a victory over their visitors from Cardiff.

Having suffered three defeats so far, including their last game against inter-regional rivals the Ospreys West side, the team from Eastern Ospreylia were hoping to get the second half of the season underway with a win.

The two sides were evenly matched and every attacking movement was responded to with strong defensive play.

With six minutes left to play in the first half it was the visiting team who finally made it across the line with Aron Clarke scoring the first points of the match. Declan Williams converted and at half time the Eyasses found themselves trailing by 7 points.

The second half was of a similar nature, both teams had chances but were denied by strong defensive play. Again though it was Aron Clarke that made the definitive move and bagged his second try of the match as a reward. With Declan Williams' boot proving reliable the visitors were 14 points ahead as they entered into the final quarter.

The last word came from the Ospreys though. Their hard work eventually seeing Nathan Watkins slip over for their only points of the match 8 minutes before the final whistle.

Final score: Ospreys East Under 16's 5 - 14 Cardiff Blues North Under 16's

With their narrowest margin of defeat so far this season, the team will now turn their attention to next week when they take on North Wales' RGC Under 16 side and hopefully secure their first win of the season.
