Ospreys East development side held to a draw

In an extremely close game, the Eyasses scored a late try to draw with the Dragons Under 16's Development team.

The Ospreys Under 16's East development team last night welcomed the development side from the Dragons to Morriston RFC for their Regional Age Grade clash.

In what turned out to be an fast paced and exciting game, there was little to choose from between the two sides. It was the Dragons who managed to get the first points on the board with two tries coming early in the game, despite only one of them being converted they found themselves comfortably in the lead.

However the young Eyasses had no  intention of being played out of the game, shortly after Connor Tantum and Ross Boast also crossed over and scored. With Lewis Cronin successfully converting both of the Ospreys tries, the home side went into half time with a narrow lead of 14 - 12.

Just after the break Luke Bevan added a third try for the Ospreys, again successfully converted by Lewis Cronin and the score line was looking good for the home side.

It was the Dragon's that then had to get back into the game and with some strong attacking play they managed to do just that, overpowering the Ospreys defence to score another two converted tries and putting them back in the lead by 5 points.

The last word however came from the young Ospreys side, as the game came to a close Lewis Cronin slipped between the Dragons back line to score his first try of the match. Unfortunately his attempt to convert his own try went wide and without the conversion the game ended in a draw.
