Llandarcy Academy of Sport hosted club teams from across the region for the finals of the Ospreys Cup U15's competition on Sunday.
This season twenty-four under 15 teams from across Ospreylia have been involved in the Ospreys Cup.
Ben Rose, WRU Development Manager for the Ospreys region, said;
"The aim of the Ospreys Cup is to provide meaningful competition to clubs at this age grade. There's a main and a development competition that offer up opportunities at different standards, so no matter how strong they are, or how many players a club has, they can put out a team and play some games.
“We hope that these boys will keep together next year to play in the 16's and from there move on into youth, and then senior rugby for the clubs that they are representing today. We want these players to stay together and then we can identify the best talents to play for the Ospreys and Wales when they are older.
“Today's finals are a great way of rewarding them for their efforts throughout the year, it's been a fantastic day for the players and all the teams have been so well supported. Overall it's been very successful as I'm sure next week's Under 16's will also be."
There were four finals held throughout the day and there was plenty of fast paced and entertaining rugby on display for the hundreds of supporters that turned up to cheer on the club's youngsters.
The Shield Final was contested by Dunvant and Bryncethin, with Bryncethin running out eventual 27 - 7 winners.
Bridgend Sports convincingly beat the Swansea Uplands side 20 - 0 in the Plate Final while there was a thriller between Gowerton and Bryncoch in the Bowl competition where, despite an impressive comeback from the Bryncoch boys, Gowerton held out to secure a 20 - 12 victory.
The Cup Final was a closely fought affair with Porthcawl narrowly beating Pontardawe by just 10 points to 8.
Next Sunday (May 18th) Llandarcy will again be the host venue as the Ospreys Cup Final Day returns for the Under 16's teams. Youngsters from Cwmafan, Pontarddulais, Neath Athletic, Nantyffyllon, Ystalyfera, Tonmawr, Mumbles and Pencoed Rugby Clubs will be in action and no doubt providing some great entertainment so come down and support the future of rugby in your region.
