The Ospreys confirmed the addition of lock Will Spencer today, who has signed until the end of the 24/25 season.
Spencer has a wealth of Gallagher Premiership experience under his belt and joins the club following the injury to Adam Beard sustained on international duty.
A powerhouse 6’7” lock, he has made over 70 appearances in the Prem, including stints at Worcester Warriors, Leicester Tigers, Bath Rugby and most recently, the Northampton Saints.
Spencer was called up to train with England back in 2017, after an impressive campaign with the Worcester Warriors.
Speaking on his move, Spencer said: “I’m excited to be joining the Ospreys. I’ve heard some great things about the atmosphere at the club, and after some conversations with the coaches, this felt like an easy decision for me.”
“The club have a rich history and some quality players in their ranks, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in whatever way I can this season.”
Head coach, Toby Booth, said: “We’re really happy to have confirmed the signing of Will. He is an injection of real quality in a position we really prioritise. He’s got a wealth of experience, and we believe that he will be able to make some real contributions both on the pitch, and on the training ground.”
Will is set to be in contention for the Ospreys upcoming trip to Montpellier and for the West Wales Derby. Get your tickets to see him and the rest of the squad in action 👇
