OSPREYS CONFIRM GEORGE NORTH'S END OF SEASON MOVE TO PROVENCE

Today, the Ospreys confirmed that George North will be leaving the club at the end of the season. The move sees North joining the ranks of Provence Rugby in France.

North has made 43 appearances for the Ospreys since joining from the Northampton Saints in 2018. Throughout his journey, North has been a regular for Wales, scoring some fantastic tries and donning multiple caps for his country.

In speaking of North leaving, Toby Booth stated: “It is really regrettable when you lose top talent like George and we will be disappointed to see him go.

Unfortunately, this is the harsh reality we are encountering in Welsh rugby at this time. The economic constraints we are currently facing, mean that whilst we strive to retain our premium talent, finances mean that sometimes we will be unable to. Moving forward, we are focusing on maintaining balanced squad depth that can uphold the standards we set for the Ospreys."

“With that being said, we understand George’s decision to leave and wish him and his family all the best at Provence.”

Speaking on his move, North said: "It's with mixed emotions that I wrap up my journey at Ospreys to embark on this new adventure with Provence at the end of the season.

“I am grateful for the memories, the support, and the incredible experiences at the Ospreys. I will always cherish my time there, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart.

“Thank you to everyone connected with the Ospreys for an unforgettable chapter in my career."
