Ospreys to Call St Helen’s Home from 2026/27

The Ospreys will make St Helen’s their home from next season, marking the return of professional rugby to one of the game’s most iconic venues through a landmark partnership with Swansea Council.

The move marks a significant moment for the club, re-establishing St Helen’s as the home of the Ospreys and creating a unique matchday experience in the heart of Swansea.

Alongside its role as a professional rugby venue, St Helen’s will also serve as a central hub for community rugby, with increased access for schools, local clubs and Swansea University.

Ospreys Head Coach Mark Jones said:

“St Helen’s is one of the most iconic grounds in Welsh rugby, and the opportunity to play there again is hugely exciting for everyone involved.

“As a group, we want to create an environment that players and supporters connect with, somewhere with real identity and energy. Bringing professional rugby back to St Helen’s gives us that, and we’re looking forward to building something special there.”

Ospreys CEO Lance Bradley added:

“This is an important step for the Ospreys as we continue to establish ourselves as the heart of the community.

“St Helen’s gives us the platform to grow, from the matchday experience through to new commercial opportunities and deeper connections with our supporters and partners. It’s a hugely exciting moment for the club.”

St Helen’s will host Ospreys fixtures from next season, while also being used throughout the week by Swansea RFC, schools, clubs and community groups, supporting the growth of the game at every level.

The Ospreys will also expand their community programme as part of the agreement, delivering more opportunities for young players and strengthening the pathway from grassroots rugby through to the professional game.

The agreement will see Swansea RFC return to the stadium for the 2026/27 season, marking the 150th anniversary of St Helen’s as their historic home.

Keith Colclough, Managing Director Swansea RFC, added:

"Everyone involved with Swansea RFC are delighted about this news, and the prospect of returning home next season to a new-look St Helen's. It's an exciting time for the club on and off the field, and for the wider rugby community in the city. We are grateful to the Council for their support, recognising the importance of rugby, and St Helen's, to the people of Swansea."
