With the Christmas derby fixture against the Scarlets confirmed as a 20,520 Liberty Stadium sell-out, fans are being encouraged to move swiftly to secure their tickets for two big matches coming up in January.
January is set to be a crucial month for the regions hopes of success this season, with reigning European champions Munster the visitors on Friday 9th January (KO 7.05pm), before the Ospreys pick up their Heineken Cup challenge in Perpignan the following weekend. Leicester Tigers then come to south Wales for the crucial group decider on Saturday 24th January (KO 5.35pm).
Bosses at the region are predicting another possible sell-out for the Tigers fixture, with over 10,000 tickets for the winner takes all clash that will decide who will top Pool 3 already snapped up, whilst the Munster game could prove crucial to the final destination of the Magners League trophy with the Irish province currently top of the table, two places ahead of the Ospreys.
Ospreys Managing Director Roger Blyth said:
"It's a really exciting time to be an Ospreys fan at the moment, with the big games coming thick and fast. The focus at the moment is on the Christmas fixtures, and in particular the Scarlets match on 27th December where we will once again have a capacity crowd getting behind the team and generating a fantastic atmosphere, but we are optimistic that our two home games in January will also benefit from the extra buzz that a big crowd brings.
Munster home is always a great occasion, with their travelling fans adding to the atmosphere and this year should be no different. They are currently top of the Magners League and we are just behind them, so it is clear that if we are to achieve our ambition of regaining the title that this is a game we must win so we would expect a decent attendance.
Then, just two weeks later, we welcome our old adversaries Leicester Tigers for what promises to be a memorable occasion, and what looks likely to be our fourth ever full-house. Regardless of whatever happens the previous weekend when we travel to Perpignan and they play Treviso, the fate of both teams will all go down to this game. It will be eighty minutes of cup rugby at its best, a winner takes all decider with everything at stake and first class rugby doesn't get any better than that. There has already been huge interest shown in this game and more than 10,000 ticket are already accounted for, despite it still being more than a month away and Christmas just around the corner.
Leicester have requested their full allocation of 2,250 under tournament regulations, restricting the number available to our own fans. Having spoken to many supporters who are disappointed to have missed out for the Scarlets match, my advice would be to move quickly to make sure you secure your ticket. It promises to be another memorable European night here at the Liberty Stadium, ranking alongside last year's win over Gloucester, or the Sale match the previous season."
Tickets for both matches are now on sale at the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office, online at http://www.ospreysrugby.com/, or via the Ticket Hotline on 08700 400 004.
In addition to match tickets, supporters can now purchase a special half-season ticket, which covers the final seven home fixtures of the season, starting with the Munster match. Prices for an adult ticket start at just £90 in the Family area, offering a saving of £36 on matchday prices.
