The Ospreys announced today that Morgan Morse has signed a new deal to remain with the club, demonstrating the side’s continued commitment to securing its brightest young talent.
Despite only being 20 years old, the backrower has already made 32 appearances for the Ospreys and made his senior Wales debut in the recent Quilter Autumn Nations Series against New Zealand. He also featured in the next fixture against South Africa the following week.
A product of the Ospreys development pathway, Morse holds the record for the most Wales u20s appearances and has been widely tipped as a star of the future in the media.
Head Coach, Mark Jones, said: “Morsey has a bright career ahead of him and is part of a strong core of young talent we have within the team, so it’s a great moment for the club to have him re-sign with us.
“He is a player that is capable of some real X-factor moments and to be a successful side, you need players like him in your squad. We place a high priority on developing talent from within our region, and Morsey is evidence of that. We’re excited by what is to come from him.”
Speaking on his new deal, Morse said: “Signing a new deal with the Ospreys is a proud moment for me and my family. This team means a lot to me and I’m really happy to be continuing at the club where my professional career began.
There’s a great group of boys and staff here who have all played an important part in my development. I’m looking forward to building on that going forward and helping the team in whatever way I can.”
With the news that Morse and Deaves have signed new contracts, the boys return to Bridgend ready for a HUGE Saturday night at the Brewery, as they face URC heavyweights Munster. Join us this weekend for some festive rugby and a big Christmas party atmosphere 👇
