Ospreys announce the departure of Cai Evans to the Dragons

The Ospreys announced the departure of Cai Evans today, who will be joining the Dragons for the upcoming season.

The fly half/full back has made 34 appearances for the Ospreys since joining the team in 2017, with six starts over the last three seasons.

Speaking about the move, Evans said:

"I am extremely grateful for all the support and opportunities provided to me during my time with the Ospreys.

“It has been a privilege to represent this team, and I would like to thank the fans, coaches and players during my time here.”

Speaking about the move, Evans said:

“I will always be appreciative to the Ospreys for giving me the opportunity to progress from the academy and play at the highest level of professional rugby.

It has been a privilege to represent this team whilst building lasting friendships, and I would like to thank the supporters, my team-mates, staff and coaches during my time here.”

Head Coach, Toby Booth, commented:

“We respect Cai’s decision to leave and understand that you cannot always keep everyone. We wish him well on his journey. We are still recruiting and as our existing players positions become finalised it allows us then the scope to bring in some fresh players to help take us forward.”

As Cai embarks on this new chapter in his rugby journey, the Ospreys wish him every success.
