Ospreys and Morganstone spread festive cheer

Ospreys players have continued their Christmas tradition of visiting the children’s wards at Morriston Hospital, Swansea, and Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.

The visits were once again carried out in conjunction with long-term commercial partner, Morganstone.

Christmas can often be a tough time for families when their little ones are in hospital, so both Morganstone and the Ospreys were happy to try and help in any way they could.

The attendees were joined by Morganstone’s very own Father Christmas with a few ‘sack loads’ of presents, advent calendars and sweets that were handed out to the children in the wards.

Managing Director for Morganstone, Ian Morgan, was present at the visit, adding:

“As always, we were delighted to be able take the time out to visit the children’s wards of the hospital and help in any way we can. It’s always a pleasure to not only meet the children and their families, but to also meet the staff that do an amazing job all year round.”

Familiar faces like James Hook, Justin Tipuric and Alun Wyn Jones were amongst the superb turnout from the Ospreys across the two visits this week.

The children and their parents were able to have photos with Father Christmas and the Ospreys whilst also receiving autographed posters from the players.

Ospreys captain, Justin Tipuric, said:

“Nobody wants to spend time in hospital, particularly around Christmas, so if our visits can help to put a smile on the children’s faces, not to mention their families and the staff working hard on the ward all year round, then we are delighted to be able visit.

“We are fortunate enough to be asked to help out on so many different initiatives, but this is one that always makes a big impact on the boys, particularly with so many of us now parents ourselves, so a big thank you to Morganstone for inviting us along.”
