The Ospreys U18 coaching team have confirmed their initial squad for next season.
After a lengthy selection process which took into account both players' performance and attitude in training along with the recent trial at Corus RFC, the Ospreys U18 coaches have selected the squad which will commence training in June ahead of the 2010-11 season.
Those players who were successful this time and who are not part of the elite development pathway 'C Group' training on weekday mornings should report for testing with Jason Larkman at the Ospreys weight-training facility in Llandarcy on Monday April 26th (forwards from 5pm to 6pm , backs 6pm to 7pm. Any forwards unavailable to attend at 5pm please attend at 6pm).
It should be stressed that this is an initial squad selection in an on-going process. There will be further opportunities for players who were not selected this time to press their case for selection in the near future.
The coaches and management will also liaise closely with the three District sides to continuously monitor players progress. Players are also reminded that continued inclusion in the squad for those selected is subject to maintaining appropriate performance levels and displaying appropriate attitudes.
Feedback for the forwards who were not successful this time will be available on Monday April 26th between 5.00pm and 6.30pm at the Llandarcy Academy of Sport. Feedback for the backs who were not successful this time will be provided on Monday 10th May between 5,00pm and 6.30pm at the Llandarcy Academy of Sport.
It should be noted that this feedback is provided for the development of players and is in line with the Ospreys' philosophy of players taking responsibility for themselves and their own development - self-reliant and self-managing players.
