One win, one defeat for young Ospreys

It was honours even for the Eyasses and the Scarlets on Wednesday evening as they shared a win apiece on a rain-soaked night in the WRU Regional Age Grade Championship.

Home advantage counted for nothing, with both away teams coming out on top.

The Ospreys U16’s were at Parc Y Scarlets, and they took an early lead through a try from number eight Jonathan Fox inside the opening ten minutes, converted by Luke Price, who added a penalty to give the Eyasses a 10-0 interval advantage.

After the break it remained very close, with the only score again coming from the boot of fly-half Price, his second penalty of the night securing a 13-0 win.

It was a different story at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, where the Scarlets U18’s won 22-12, Josh White scoring all the Eyasses points with his boot (two penalties, two drop goals) as the young Ospreys fell to the third defeat in as many games at that age-grade this season.
