One week to go until the Easter Kids Camps

There may be just a week left until the Ospreys Easter Kids Camps get underway, but that is still enough time for rugby mad children across the region to sign up for the fun!

Hosted by the Ospreys Community Rugby Department in conjunction with sponsors RWE npower renewables, there will be a total of six courses taking place during the Easter Holiday, aimed at boys and girls in the U6-U11 age groups, covering tag or contact rugby dependent on the relevant age-grade.

There will be four two-day courses taking place at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, along with two special one-day courses, one at Bridgend College’s Pencoed Campus, the other at Bishopston Leisure Centre. The courses have been revamped and updated since last year, providing an even more exciting experience for young Ospreys fans.

All children signing up will get the opportunity to boost their rugby skills with help of the Ospreys Community Coaches, as well as making friends with fellow rugby fans in a fun and safe environment.

In addition to specialist coaching, all participants will receive a goodie bag full of Ospreys gifts, as well as a special visit from members of the Ospreys squad who will answer questions, sign autographs and join in all the fun.

Regional Community Manager, Ben Rose, will be overseeing the new-look Kids Camps, and he says that children attending will have a great time:

“Since being appointed to this role at the end of last year, along with the team we’ve had a good look at everything we offer to children via these camps, and we’ve been able to create an enhanced programme that will make this popular initiative an even better experience.

“The Kids Camps always go down well with our younger fans, and this Easter, they should be better than ever. I’d urge all parents who have children that love rugby to get them signed up as soon as possible for what promises to be an excellent way to spend the Easter holidays.”

21-year old Justin Tipuric is one of the young Ospreys players that has come to the fore this season, and he says that it’s important that young players in Ospreylia enjoy the Kids Camp experience:

“It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was a young boy with dreams of being a professional rugby player, so I can easily remember the kind of excitement that coming into any kind of contact with the Ospreys would create.

“The Kids Camp is a great opportunity for young rugby fans to get experience of our environment, to work with Ospreys coaches to improve their skills, and to get to meet some of the players. We always look forward to taking part in the camps, hopefully the kids taking part this Easter will enjoy them as much as we do!”
