Sporting Memories

OitC celebrates Sporting Memories

Ospreys in the Community are delighted to announce the re-launch of our Sporting Memories groups at Swansea RFC and Neath RFC.

Due to the huge success of the project, the Health and Wellbeing team at OitC are now able to run sessions from two clubs steeped in rugby history.

As part of our Sporting Memories Project, our reminiscent clubs specifically target an ageing population, those living with dementia, their carers as well as those struggling with depression, loneliness and social exclusion. We provide the opportunity to chat, meet new friends and take part in new activities.

Mondays – 1:30-3:30pm – Neath RFC

Tuesdays – 1:30-3:30pm – Swansea RFC

As well as the launch of our two new clubs, we also have sessions running in the following venues on the below days.

Mondays 10.30-12.30 Loughor RFC

Tuesdays 10.30-12.30 Ynystawe Cricket Club

Wednesdays 10.30-12.30 Dunvant RFC

To support the 5 groups across the community, OitC will be hosting a Wellbeing event at the Swansea.com stadium at the Ospreys next home game on Saturday 4th December, in the shape of a “Question of sport” where local author David Brayley will take up the presenter role for a fun evening of reminiscence, physical activity, and socialising.

Third sector organisations have been invited to support.
