New second jersey out on Friday

The new Ospreys change jersey will be unveiled on Friday morning, when it will go on sale exclusively at the Club Shop and online, before the team wear it for the first time in the pre-season fixture against Russia at the Liberty Stadium.

The launch of the new shirt follows the public event held at the Quadrant Shopping Centre in Swansea during July, when the wraps came off the new-look black home jersey in front of hundreds of Ospreys fans.

It will be available to buy from 10am on Friday morning, at the Liberty Stadium and www.ospreysrugby.com exclusively for a week before going on sale across the UK and beyond at all Kooga outlets.

The first chance for fans to see their heroes wearing the jersey will come in the pre-season fixture against Russia at the Liberty Stadium later this month, a crucial match central to both team’s preparations for September, when the Ospreys kick-off their RaboDirect Pro12 campaign with a home game against European champions Leinster (Friday 2nd September), with Russia beginning their Rugby World Cup campaign on the 15th against USA.

Andrew Hore, Chief Operations Officer, said that the region had made a conscious decision to wear the white and steel blue jersey at the Liberty Stadium:

“Having enjoyed a fantastic day at the Quadrant Centre, with hundreds of our fans turning up to get a look at the players modelling the 2011 home jersey, the Russia match is the first opportunity for supporters to see the boys wearing the white version.

“It’s going to be another great occasion, with fans able to enjoy a cracking summer’s day out for all the family, and to see the Ospreys players taking to the field in their pristine white and steel blue strips will be quite a sight on a day when international rugby returns to the Liberty Stadium.”

The new second jersey will only be available in a supporters fit, with all sizes available, priced at £39.99 for juniors, £49.99 adults.
