New home for the Eyasses

St Helens set to host the Ospreys Under 18's home games this season.

With the Ospreys Under 18's season set to get underway this weekend, there will be a new home for the Eyasses this year. St Helens Rugby Club, home of Swansea RFC, will now be the base for the age grade team, hosting all the U18 squad’s home matches in the WRU Regional Age Grade Championship.

In previous years the Ospreys training ground at Llandarcy has hosted the young Ospreys' games, but the 2014/15 will see them based at the famous Swansea ground.

Stephen Hughes, Chairman of Swansea RFC, commented on the move:

"We're delighted that St Helens will be the home of the young Ospreys this season. The team here at Swansea RFC are dedicated to developing rugby and young players so we're thrilled to be supporting the Eyasses and giving them a permanent base here at St Helens.

“We're looking forward to hosting the Ospreys regularly and welcoming the next generation of rugby players and their supporters to the club."

Andrew Millward, Rugby General Manager at the Ospreys added:

"As a region, we are committed to getting out across Ospreylia and into the community as much as we can. We have the LV=Cup games coming up at the Gnoll and the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field, and I'm delighted that our U18s will now be able to call St Helens home this season."

The Eyasses first game of the 2014/15 season is this Sunday, kick off 2pm, against RGC Under 18's. Entry is priced at £3 and the clubhouse at St Helens will be open with food and drink available to purchase.
