Montpellier Herault vs Ospreys: Stat Attack

The boys are preparing to travel to France this weekend to face the French Powerhouse, Montpellier Herault.  Here's the Stat Attack for a huge fixture for the team's hopes for the knockout stages.

This will be the third meeting between Ospreys and Montpellier in EPCR competitions after the two sides also met twice in the pool stages of last season’s Champions Cup, with Ospreys triumphing in both of those matches, including the 35-29 at home and a historic 21-10 away from home.

Ospreys have won each of their last four pool stage matches across the Champions and Challenge Cups, their longest such run since winning all six of their pool games in the 2016/17 Challenge Cup.

The boys scored more points per attacking 22m entry than any other side across the opening round of this season’s EPCR Challenge Cup, Montpellier allowed the joint entries into their own 22 along with Castres and Scarlets.

The Ospreys beat more defenders than any other team in their pool last week, while Montpellier had the highest carry dominance and gain line success rates of any Pool 2 team last weekend.

Four was the magic number for Dewi last week, as he scored four tries in the opening round, twice as many as any other player, becoming the first Ospreys player to score 3+ tries in a single EPCR match since Keelan scored his hat-trick away to Lyon in 2016.
