MoM Baker retains his spot as five Eyasses

After shining in last week's victory over Italy, where he scored a matchwinning try on the way to collecting the man-of-match award, Baker will again start, alongside Ross Jones, Luke Morgan, Sam Davies and Jack Jones, when the youngsters face France on Friday at Eirias Park. (KO 7.35pm)

Wales will be looking to make it a hat-trick of wins at another sell-out in North Wales and coach Danny Wilson commented:

“We’re rotating this squad to ensure we, as a management team, get to look at all players with the view to the World Cup. We want to ensure we take the best players, bearing in mind there will be another 12 players that will be available for selection for the World Cup that were not for this campaign.

“It’s important that the players involved in this squad all get a fair crack and enough playing time to showcase their capabilities.

“We were really pleased with Dan’s performance against Italy after returning from injury. France have an enormous pack of forwards and Dan will assist us in fronting up to that.

“France beat England last week which proves their ability as a team so we know it’s going to be another tough encounter but another sell-out at Eirias will go some way to help us in our challenge.

“The crowds in North Wales have been awesome and you cannot underestimate how much of a boost a vocal home crowd is for the team, we’re really delighted with the support that has been shown so we’d like to put on a good performance as a way of thanks.”
