Mefin Davies confirmed as new All Whites coach

The Management Board of Swansea Rugby Club in conjunction with the Ospreys is pleased to announce the appointment of Mefin Davies as the new Coach of the Swansea RFC team.

Mefin is currently one of the group of young coaches at the Ospreys who have been identified over the last three years.

Mefin will continue to work with the Ospreys and his primary role will be to oversee the forward technical and tactical development of the youth and development squads.

He will now bring his significant technical expertise to develop the young Swansea side into the new Premiership division next season.

The Board look forward to working with Mefin, who will work closely with the Swansea Director of Rugby, Richard Moriarty, as well as the remainder of the coaching team.

Together they will look to forge even closer links with the Ospreys and local Community Clubs to build on the successes achieved in recent years in developing players for the Ospreys such as Alun Wyn Jones, Dan Bigger, Richard Hibbard, Mathew Morgan, Hanno Dirksen, Sam Lewis, Tom Isaacs, Eli Walker and Tom Prydie.

It is intended that young players will be encouraged to play within a strong stable squad which will be the permanent backbone of the side and be introduced to the rigours of Premiership Rugby as they develop.

Club Chairman Phil Llewellyn said: ”We are delighted to welcome Mefin to Swansea and know he will bring his considerable expertise to bear on the team. The Board looks forward to next season with a view to producing a strong competitive team which will include some new and exciting young talent and ask as usual for the support of their loyal supporters”.
