Mefin and Kahn play 'advantage' at Ospreys

The Ospreys Referees Society and the Ospreys Coach Development team have once again come together to organise a special seminar, which is open to all active coaches and referees in the region, with Ospreys Mefin Davies and Kahn Fotuali'i in attendance.

Hosted by Taibach Rugby Club, the event will cover off “Refereeing the Advantage Law”, with WRU referee James Jones making a presentation on the subject before opening up to the floor for an open discussion.

Mefin and Kahn will be present to put forward the views of leading professionals, and in Mefin’s case, as an up and coming coach who has played at the highest level.

WRU/Ospreys Regional Development Manager Ben Rose, said:

“Our Coach Development team continues to lead the way in Wales in terms of finding new and innovative ways of improving and educating coaches. Working in conjunction with the Referees Society is a great example of how they are constantly striving to offer coaches in the region something different.

“It is excellent to see different aspects of the rugby community in Ospreylia working together in this way, providing real opportunities for both coaches and referees to improve their understanding of a contentious area of the game in a beneficial manner.

“This seminar will offer a great opportunity for coaches to express their views on the matter and perhaps to influence the way referees handle the situation. It is equally an opportunity for referees to explain their viewpoint and to understand the feelings of players and coaches.”

The even takes place at Taibach Rugby Club at 7 p.m. next Wednesday, 15th February.

Previous events of this nature have been hugely successful with both referees and coaches who attended stating how much benefit they derived. Please make every effort to attend and make this session equally successful.
