Magners League Fixtures Revealed

The Ospreys will kick off their Magners League campaign with an away trip to Connacht for the second successive season.

Last season saw Sean Holley's side get their season off to a winning start with a 16-3 win in horrendous weather conditions at the Sportsground and will be looking for a similar result when they return to Galway on the first weekend of September (day to be confirmed) to begin a busy few weeks for the region. The opening weekend is followed by back-to-back home games against Ulster and reigning European champions Leinster at the Liberty Stadium, before the opening month is rounded off with a trip to Glasgow.

The Ospreys' first ever visit to the new City of Cardiff Stadium is pencilled in for late October, while December kicks off with a home game against Magners League 2009 champions Munster. The Christmas period sees the Ospreys travel to Parc y Scarlets, followed by the return fixture against Cardiff Blues.

After travelling to Rodney Parade to face Newport Gwent Dragons on the final weekend of March, the region will then welcome the Scarlets to the Liberty Stadium over the Easter period, before rounding off the regular season with a home game against the Dragons at the start of May.

With the introduction this year of play-offs to decide the Magners League Champions, there is the exciting prospect of semi finals to be held over the weekend of 14 May with the season concluding in the first ever Magners League final on the weekend of 28 May.

The fixture list as it currently stands is just weekend only dates; specific dates, kick-off times and in some cases venues, will be released via www.ospreysrugby.com at a later date, following consultations with broadcast partners and the individual teams concerned.
