Lydiate to miss NZ tour

Dan Lydiate has been ruled out of Wales’ summer tour to New Zealand after suffering a shoulder injury during Sunday’s defeat to England at Twickenham.

The flanker, captain for the day, exited the action inside the opening half hour and, late on Sunday, Warren Gatland confirmed that Lydiate would fail to recover in time for the three test trip, the first of which is on Saturday 11th June.

Uncapped Cardiff Blues flanker Ellis Jenkins, a former Wales U20 captain, will link up with the squad before they depart for New Zealand on Monday evening.

The following Ospreys players all remain in the squad:

Scott Baldwin, Bradley Davies, Paul James, Alun Wyn Jones, Rhodri Jones, James King, Rhys Webb, Dan Biggar and Eli Walker
