London Ospreys gather momentum

The Ospreys face Saracens in London on Thursday 21st August in a pre-season fixture with a difference that will see members of the London Ospreys Business Network come together in unique surroundings.

The game is taking place at the Honourable Artillery Company on City Road, EC1Y, a historic venue that Saracens have made a home from home at the heart of London’s business community in recent seasons, and provides a wonderful setting for summer networking with fellow Ospreys supporters.

Existing members of the London Ospreys Business Network, and those interested in joining us for the first time, are invited along for a special evening, with a wide range of corporate packages available.

The London Ospreys Business Network is a vibrant new organisation that was founded in September 2013 to provide an outlet for both London-based and Wales-based people who are interested in connecting and sharing their association or affiliation to the Ospreys region.

The Network was launched at the IoD Celtic Dinner in Pall Mall, London, where the five 2013 Ospreys Lions were the guests of honour, taking part in a Q&A hosted by James Gemmell from Sky Sports, with 150 guests in attendance.

Since then, there have been two quarterly events; in January at Hispania, next to Royal Exchange, where 80 senior executives from the City were joined by guest speaker Ryan Jones, while in April another great turnout listened to Andrew Hore discussing the ‘European Landscape’ at the offices of K&L Gates, a financial organisation of more than 150 years standing, overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral. In addition, members have enjoyed international match day hospitality in both Cardiff and London.

A number of further events are pencilled in for later in the year, with this fixture against Saracens the next opportunity for members new and old to meet under the Ospreys banner, with another big turnout from the City anticipated.

Yarnie Guthrie, Ospreys Commercial Manager, said:

“The London Ospreys has got off to a great start, with some hugely successful events that brought together business people who share a passion for the Ospreys, and for Welsh rugby, and looks set to go from strength to strength.

“This fixture against Saracens provides a great opportunity to enjoy rugby in a wonderful setting, right at the heart of the City, and we are looking forward to what promises to be a special evening in unique surroundings, with the Ospreys facing one of Europe’s leading teams.”

There are a wide range of hospitality packages available for those interested, including access to an excessive London Ospreys marquee. For further details please contact Peter Hawkins at Ospreys Rugby on 01792 616512 or email peter.hawkins@ospreysrugby.com
