The Ospreys confirmed today that Lewis Lloyd had signed a new deal to remain with the Ospreys.
A product of the Ospreys development pathway, Lloyd has already made 26 appearances for the club despite only being 22.
Heralded for his relentless work rate and matching ability to fly off the line and make tackles in the backfield, Lloyd is quickly becoming a fan favourite at the Ospreys.
Speaking on his new deal, Lloyd said: “This club means a lot to me so signing a new deal was a no-brainer. I came through the academy, made my professional debut and have grown a lot as a player since that time.
“The Ospreys is like a second home to me, there’s a great group of boys here and a quality coaching staff that work with us to make sure we’re performing at our best. I’m really happy with what I’ve achieved so far at the club and I’m ready to push on with improving and playing as much rugby as I can.”
Head Coach, Mark Jones, said: “Lew is a great representation of the players that come through our development pathway. His desire to compete, to keep improving and his willingness to adapt his role to support the team are invaluable qualities for us.
“His set piece ability is constantly improving and combined with his work rate and ability to set the tone in defence, he has a bright career ahead of him. We’re extremely happy with the blend of exciting young talent and high-level experience we have in our squad going forward, with that being part of a concerted effort by the club to build for our future.”
