With record season membership figures of almost 9,200 this season, Ospreys bosses are calling on fans to make the Liberty Stadium the 'best party in town' this weekend.
The Ospreys host Ulster in their first home game of the RaboDirect PRO12 season on Saturday evening, and a bumper crowd is expected as the region looks to kick-start its title defence with Chief Operations Officer, Andrew Hore, urging fans to turn up the volume.
Speaking ahead of the game, Hore commented:
“Since winning the league in Dublin last May everyone has really looked forward to our first home game of the new PRO12 season and now it’s just days away.
“There has been a fantastic response to our season membership packages with the current figure of almost 9,200 continuing to rise daily, and I’ve no doubt whatsoever that our supporters are as eager to welcome the players back to the Liberty as the players are to run out in front of their own fans at the home of the Ospreys.
“We want matchday at the Liberty Stadium to be the best party in town with big crowds and big atmospheres to match. While the players will give 100 per cent for the cause as always, they can’t create the atmosphere themselves though, it’s up to the fans in the stands to make as much noise as they can, to raise the roof and drive the team on.
“We had some wonderful atmospheres here at the end of last season, big crowds doing their bit to help the team towards the PRO12 title. The Dragons and Munster atmospheres were as good as anything I’ve experienced with the Ospreys so it’s very much a case of more of the same please.
“Matchday is about the family here, and we have made improvements to our pre-match Supporters Village to ensure that it is now undercover and the perfect place to meet your friends in the dry, every game, all season long, while there will be more going on inside the stadium to help make it a great day out.
“We’ve got a great venue, great supporters and a great squad who believe in the cause, which all adds up to something special. If everyone pulls together on matchday and plays their part then the atmosphere at the Liberty Stadium should be fantastic every week.”
