Jarvis ruled out of season opener against

Summer signing Aaron Jarvis will miss the opening weekend of the RaboDirect Pro12 campaign after suffering an ankle injury in pre-season training.

The 25-year old tighthead is currently undergoing treatment under the watchful eye of Head Physio Chris Towers, who is confident that the former Bath player will be available for selection once again in the early weeks of the season.

Towers explained:

“Aaron suffered an ankle injury in training two weeks ago, with some ligament damage occurring. We’ve currently got him in a boot in order to protect the ankle and allow the injury to heal and settle.

“We’re working on the principle that he’ll be available again around the six week mark and that although he will miss the first game against Leinster, he will possibly be available for either the Edinburgh or Treviso games in the following two weeks.”
