Humphreys Leinster reaction

Jonathan Humphreys praised the spirit of the Ospreys players after the narrow defeat at the RDS on Friday evening.

Speaking after the game, Humphreys said:

"I have to say that as a coaching team, we've got real pride in the boys, they've really fronted up this week after last Saturday.  It's been a tremendous physical effort and they've really showed what the Ospreys spirit is all about.

"It's been clear for everyone to see this week that they wanted to play for the shirt, for each other and for the fans. We wanted more than just a bonus point today, we believed that we could get something here, so obviously we're disappointed with that, but I can't fault the commitment and effort. That point could prove invaluable end of season.

"The players could not have given any more in the game and perhaps if we could have had a bit more petrol in the tank we could of won

It's been a great trip and we're really thankful to the directors for their foresight in allowing us to spend the week in Ireland. It really did make a huge difference to team preparations this week, the boys have really enjoyed even though its been physically tough. Everyone has fronted up  and they have put us in a position to have a chance of finishing in the top two."
