Young winger Dafydd Howells is unlikely to feature again this season after damaging ankle ligaments in last month’s PRO12 game against Glasgow.
The teenager was forced off in the opening minutes of the defeat at Scotstoun, his first ever PRO12 start, and scans have revealed the extent of the damage, as confirmed by Medical Performance Manager, Chris Towers, today.
“It is quite substantial ligament damage, but the good news is that he doesn’t require surgery. However, the best case scenario is that he is looking at a 10-12 week rehabilitation period” said Towers.
Meanwhile, Towers also confirmed that outside half Sam Davies is undergoing the return to play protocols having left the field last Friday night following a blow to the head, with a view to being available to feature against Munster this Saturday.
