Head Coach Sean Holley hails 'excellent team performance'
Speaking straight after the 38-27 win at Ravenhill that moved the Ospreys back up to second place in the Magners League, Holley said:
"That was just what the doctor ordered. I'm really proud of the way the boys bounced back today, they showed huge character and we ran out deserved winners in the end I thought.
"Ulster are a tough team to beat, particularly here at Ravenhill. It's been a tough week, we've had a lot go against us, but we are trying to do great things at the Ospreys and that was one for the fans and the players to enjoy.
"The win has put us right back in there, we are in second place with three games remaining, but there are a lot of ups and downs ahead of this season still. We've got a difficult game ahead of us at the league leaders on the weekend, but we'll go down there buoyed by the way we played today.
"It was a great response from the disappointment we had on Saturday, the players showed the Ospreys spirit that we expect. I think that again we showed what we are capable of in terms of attacking capability and we scored some good tries. But, particularly pleasing was the defensive effort, particularly when we were down to 14 as not only did we stop them from taking advantage of the extra man, we actually outscored them. It was a crucial phase of the game, and for Tommy to round it off with a try on his return here was the icing on the cake really.
"It was an excellent team performance, and by that I don't just mean the 22 on the pitch but the rest of the travelling party. We are over here for the week, we've successfully managed to come through the first part of the challenge, but we know that this is just the first step towards the play-offs."
