The Ospreys confirmed today that scrum half Harri Williams had signed a new deal to remain with the club.
Williams began his career at the Scarlets before joining Ampthill in the English Championship. Before joining the Ospreys, the scrum half spent time in Australia playing for the Tuggeranog Vikings. He has also represented Wales at u20 level and played for GB Sevens.
Speaking on re-signing, Williams said: “It was a season of mixed emotions for me. I picked up a tough injury early on in the season which was difficult, but I managed to get through that and finally make my debut for the club, which was a real privilege.”
“The medical team and S&C staff worked really hard to get me in a place to make my first appearance and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for that. Being out with a longer-term injury is never easy, but being around this group of players every day definitely helped me to keep pushing to get back fit.
“I really want to pay that back this season by improving and helping this team in whatever way I can.”
Head Coach, Mark Jones, said: “Harri worked extremely hard in training last season, so it was a real shame that he picked up the injury when he did. It says a lot about his character that he was able to get back to a place where he could contribute for us towards the end of the season.”
“With Reubs and Kieran often away on international duty, it’s important for us to a quality crop of scrum halves, and we feel we definitely have that with Luke and Harri both still a part of our playing group.”
