Harri Deaves signs new Ospreys deal

The Ospreys are delighted to announce that local product and dynamic flanker Harri Deaves has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract.

Deaves, who rose through the ranks of the Ospreys pathway, has been a standout performer for the senior side. His relentless tackling and breakdown nous have seen him become a fan favourite at the Swansea.com Stadium this season.

The Pontyclun RFC product made his Ospreys debut in the the 21/22 season against Sale Sharks. Deaves has since made 25 appearances in an Ospreys jersey.

Speaking on the deal, Deaves said: ”To sign a new contract with the club that has given me so much means the world to me. I'm excited about what we're building here and looking forward to achieving great things with this team.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank my youth club, Pontyclun RFC, for everything they’ve contributed towards my development, my friends and family for their support, and the Ospreys Supporters Club for sponsoring me this season.”

Head Coach, Toby Booth, shared the sentiment, stating: “Deavesy is a promising talent who has a relentless competitive streak. He has the ability to influence games and a thirst for working hard. As he improves I am sure we will see his influence more and more. We’re happy that he sees his future here with us, and we believe he's going to be an integral part of our squad in the years to come.

“With this signing, we maintain our commitment to nurturing local talent and Deavesy’s progression from the academy to the first team is a shining example of our pathway success.”

As the club looks ahead to the rest of the season, Deaves’ signature provides a significant lift both on and off the field. This signing will no doubt continue to inspire the next generation of Ospreys stars hoping to make the move up to the senior side.
