Following on from the news that Morgan Morse has signed a new deal earlier today, the Ospreys have announced that Harri Deaves has also committed to a new deal, further strengthening the core of young talent committing their futures to the Ospreys.
Deaves has already made 53 appearances for the Ospreys and made his international debut against New Zealand in the recent Quilter Nations Series.
A proud product of Pontyclun RFC, the flanker is heralded for his relentless work rate and unwavering persistence in the tackle.
Speaking on his new deal, Deaves said: “I’m extremely happy to be staying with the Ospreys. This is the team I grew up supporting and have had the privilege of sharing the field with players that I looked up to in the early parts of my career.”
“Coming here every day to work is a real privilege for me, I have made some incredible friends at the Ospreys and I’m excited to continue my development here. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has played a role in helping me to get to this point; my family, my friends, the Ospreys, and everyone at Pontyclun.”
Head Coach, Mark Jones, said: “Deavesy is someone that has already made his mark on the Ospreys and we’re excited to see him build on that going forward. He has been an extremely consistent performer for us, and consistency is something we value highly at the club.
“He is the type of player that personifies what it is to be an Osprey - his effort, physicality and desire for the shirt, are all invaluable to us as a team. We’re excited to have Deavesy commit his future to the club, as we see him as an integral part of our squad over the next few seasons.”
With the news that Morse and Deaves have signed new contracts, the boys return to Bridgend ready for a HUGE Saturday night at the Brewery, as they face URC heavyweights Munster. Join us this weekend for some festive rugby and a big Christmas party atmosphere 👇
