With a number of youngsters set to pull on the Ospreys jersey in tonight's opening pre-season fixture against a Regional Select XV, skills coach Gruff Rees, who has worked with the players through the elite development pathway, gives a quick guide to who's who.
The team named for the game includes 12 products of the Ospreys player development system in the starting 15, with a further six named among the replacements.
Here, Gruff takes us through some of the names that you may not yet be familiar with:
Eli Walker: Gorseinon product Eli has starred for Wales U18 over the last 2 seasons and made his senior bow for Swansea at the end of last year.
Ben John: The Swansea College product won his Wales U20 cap last year after starring for Aberavon over the last 18 months.
Matthew Morgan: An exciting and dynamic fly half from Bridgend Athletic who appeared for Wales U18 last year. Was presented with the Most Improved Elite Youth Player award at the Ospreys end of season awards in May.
Joe Rees: A Mumbles boy who helped Tonmawr win promotion to the Premiership last season, going on to impress at the Junior World Championship in Argentina following a late call up to the Wales U20 squad.
Ben Thomas: A Bryntirion HS product who was a consistent performer across all back row positions last year for Aberavon whilst part of the U20 squad despite being a year young.
Sam Williams: Has shown character to come back from an injury riddled 18 months, and the former Pencoed schoolboy is already making a mark in pre-season training with the B group.
Dan Baker: An Ystradgynlais product who played for Wales U18 last season.
Tom Habberfield: A consistent performer at scrum-half for Ospreys U18's and Pencoed College over the past 2 years, he picked up a deserved Wales U18 cap last season.
Why not get down to the Talbot Athletic Ground tonight to take a closer look at these players ahead of the new season? Kick-off is at 7.00pm, with admission just £5 for adults with concessions £3, while U11’s go free.
Meet the non-playing members of the Ospreys squad at the OSC marquee from 6pm, and at half time.
