The Ospreys today confirmed that they will host Guinness Premiership side Gloucester at the Liberty Stadium over the August Bank Holiday weekend in a pre-season fixture.

The actual date and kick-off time for the match will be confirmed in June, after the Football League fixture list for the 2009/10 season is released, revealing whether or not Swansea City are at home that weekend, allowing Ospreys management to plan around their fixture.
Gloucester finished sixth in this season's Guinness Premiership, booking their place in next season's Heineken Cup in the process, as well as reaching the final of the EDF Energy Cup thanks to a victory over the Ospreys at the semi-final stage.
The two sides have built up something of an on-field rivalry in recent seasons, with the Ospreys having won two of the five fixtures between the sides to date, most notably, the 32-15 Heineken Cup win on a memorable evening at the Liberty Stadium in January 2008.
