The West Wales Derby is a special occasion to many for different reasons.
For the players, it’s an opportunity to go head-to-head with their countrymen; for supporters, it’s bragging rights for the rest of the season; for the community, it’s a chance to celebrate rugby in all its glory, regardless of where your loyalties lie.
In the opening week of going on sale for the Ospreys v Scarlets fixture, we’ve received an overwhelming response from our community clubs. Excited to take part in one of the most electric derby days in rugby, 32 age grade teams have already signed up to our feast of rugby.
Remarkably, Kenfig Hill will be bringing their junior section in its entirety; and we will also be welcoming large groups from Abercrave, Birchgrove, Cefn Coed, Cefn Cribwr, Cwmavon, Morriston, Porthcawl, Swansea Uplands, and Tondu. You don’t have to be a local side to take part in the West Wales Derby, we’ll be hosting a touring side from Nottingham and welcoming Tenby over the Loughour bridge.
It’s a day for all to enjoy, so if you want to get involved, take advantage of special Community Group ticket offers.
