The PRO12 Board today announced the appointment of Gerald Davies as Independent Chairman. Mr. Davies will succeed Andy Irvine who had chaired the Board since 2010.
Mr. Davies represented Wales in the 1960s and 1970s and was also selected for the British & Irish Lions in 1968 and again in 1971 when he was a key member of the Victorious tour to New Zealand. He won 46 caps for his country and represented the Lions on 19 occasions (5 tests).
Mr. Davies having been Manager of the Lions Tour to South Africa in 2009 then served as Chairman of the Lions Board from 2009 until 2014.
