GCS bring the silverware back to Ospreylia

Gower College Swansea were crowned British Colleges Plate champions at Sixways, Worcester this week.

The Ospreylian college claimed the trophy in some style, steaming to a 60-12 victory over Hills Road College, Cambridge.

Gower started to build up an early lead, scoring three tries in the first 20 minutes through Tom Dew, Ben Roberts and Liam Popham.

Things got even better thanks to an Adam Mort brace which helped his teammates walk in at half-time leading 29-0.

The foot of the Swansea boys did not come off the pedal, scoring two tries in quick succession through Lloyd King and Scott Otten.

Hills Road finally managed to grab a try of their own, but Gower bounced straight back to grab their eighth try of the game with Gareth Andrew crossing the whitewash.

Hills Road clinched another try, albeit a consolation, before Gower College ensured their dominance continued when they sent Sam Evans and Scott Otten over to finish off their teams scoring.

Liam Popham converted four of the tries with Ben Roberts adding a two-pointer of his own on their way to securing a memorable 60-12 plate victory.

Everybody at the Ospreys would like to congratulate Gower College on bringing silverware back to Ospreylia. Well done boys!
