Warren Gatland has praised the working relationship between the national squad and the Ospreys after the two sides came together for a controlled training session earlier this week.
The Ospreys and Wales training squad trained against each other in a live controlled session on Tuesday afternoon at Wales’ Vale Resort base.
Both sides benefited from the session according to Gatland, who thanked Steve Tandy and this team for making the trip to Cardiff.
“Tuesday was very beneficial for us and for the Ospreys too, who are preparing for their pre-season game next week against Saracens,” said Gatland.
“We have a great working relationship with the regional coaches and have worked closely with Steve and his team a number of times and I would like to thank them for coming up to Cardiff for the session.
“It was an opportunity for the forwards and backs to run against each other before bringing things together and those sort of hit outs will benefit us both.
“It’s been an intense week so far for the players since they have come back in on Monday and it was really useful to run against opposition.”
