An often used cliche that goes with sporting events but apt to describe the fixture between the Young Opsreys and Blues under 20's at Llandarcy yesterday (Tuesday).
In the first half the Young Ospreys were dominant at the set piece and this led to a comfortable interval lead by 13 points to 3. Dan Biggar was in form with the boot and kicked two excellent penalties before converting a good team try that was finished off by centre Gareth Owen. Blues scrum half Luke Evans, who has recently arrived from Australia, kicked a penalty to keep the Blues in touch. Although they started the second half by creating a number of opportunities which they were unable to finish off, the Young Ospreys did manage another penalty from Biggar to extend their lead. After this penalty it was the Blues who then dominated for long periods and eventually broke the Youing Osprey defence to score a try. Outside half James Thomas threw a dummy which the defence bought before he fed centre Luke Ford who then crashed in under the posts; Evans converted. It was a tense last 15 minutes before replacement full back Tom Cole put the result beyond doubt when he kicked a penalty for a final score of 19 points to 10 in favour of the Young Ospreys.
