Kieron Fonotia is set to go up against his Ospreys team-mates later this month after he was included in the Samoan squad for the first time.
The former Crusader, who scored five tries in 20 games for the region following his arrival at the Liberty Stadium last November, qualifies for Samoa through his father’s family.
Samoa have four games over the summer facing New Zealand in Auckland on Friday 16th June, and Wales in Apia on Friday 23rd June, before two Rugby World Cup qualifiers, against Tonga away in Nuku’alofa on Saturday 1st July and Fiji in Apia on Saturday 15th July.
Fonotia, 29, is one of eight uncapped players named in the Samoan squad, and he will be playing alongside former Osprey (and Crusader), Kahn Fotuali’i.
