Eyasses suffer narrow defeat

Blues North gained a narrow 13-16 victory over the Ospreys U16's at Llandarcy on Wednesday evening, coming back from a 13- 6 deficit with five minutes of the game remaining to clinch what has seemed an unlikely win.

The Blues North's outside half Callum Hall gave the North the early advantage converting two penalties before Osprey scrum half Matthew Aubrey replied with two penalties of his own, resulting in a  6-6 score line at half time.

The Eyasses had a number of opportunities to take control of the game but it was nearly an hour in before wing Rhys Gealy crossed for a try converted by centre Owen Watkin to give the Ospreys 13-6 advantage.

With victory in sight for the home team a lapse of concentration in defence allowed Blues North No 8 Morgan Sieniawski to cross for a try converted by replacement Jacob Lloyd. to bring the sides level at 13 - 13 and then, with minutes left, Lloyd kicked a penalty to earn the Blues North their second successive victory of the campaign after last week's win over the Scarlets.

The Young Ospreys will be disappointed with the result after dominating for long periods of the game but the coaches will be more than pleased with the squad’s continued improved performances.
