Experience the 2003 Supporters Lounge this

Last Saturday's game against Ulster saw the opening of the 2003 Supporters Lounge, a brand new club designed to house up to 150 Ospreylians pre and post match for every game at the Liberty Stadium this season.

Run by the Ospreys but officially hosted by the OSC, 130 fans sampled the first trial run, with members and guests at Saturday’s opening game of the new facility treated to Q&A’s with both Ryan Jones and Roger Blyth, along with pre match entertainment.

Off the back of last weekend’s ‘try before you buy’ trial, a number of season members have already signed up for membership of the 2003 Supporters Lounge, with many more trialing it again this weekend when the ‘try before you buy offer’ runs once again for Friday night’s game against Glasgow.

Understandably, the Lounge has proven particularly popular with season members in the West Stand season ticket holders given that they are close to the Lounge and have direct access to their seats but the facility is open to any current seasonmembers, regardless of where in the Liberty Stadium you are located.

Yarnie Guthrie, Ospreys Commercial Manager, said:

“We are thrilled about having an additional option for supporters to consider and we are sure the lounge will become more popular as cold winter weather sets in and we continue to develop the Club.

“We got some important feedback from current season members and the OSC regarding the features and benefits of the club and we will be working hard to ensure we adjust the offering to best meet the needs of our members.

“We have already identified that fans are looking for a more relaxed layout and we have reacted quickly for this weekend. Also, we are adjusting the timing of the player Q&A on a Friday night to ensure that Supporters have time to arrive from work and enjoy the full benefits.

“We realise there is a long way to go to fine-tune the offering so it perfectly fits what the Season Members desire but we will continue to work with supporters to ensure the club grows inline with their needs.”

One season member who has signed up for the 2003 Supporters Lounge after being suitably impressed last Saturday is Robert Hughes from Newport, who commented:

“Travelling from Newport to games it’s excellent to be able to sit in the bar and relax prior to the game. My son and I decided to purchase entrance to this club prior to kick off last week. The bar is relaxed, food available and the staff are very pleasant.

“The players are more accessible in the communal areas and this makes it even more exciting for the youngsters who are able to rub shoulders with their rugby heroes

“I look forward to the season in the 2003 club and am sure that supporters from near and far will enjoy the surroundings and the facilities on offer.”
