Ethan Lewis re-signs with Ospreys

The Ospreys announced today Ethan Lewis had signed a new deal to bolster their options at hooker.

Lewis has made six appearances for the team since his debut against Connacht in the season opener.

Before joining the Ospreys, Lewis spent two years at the Saracens after a loan spell at the English Champions. He made over 25 appearances during his time there, including 14 appearances in the Premiership.

Head coach, Toby Booth, said: “Ethan has been a welcome addition to the squad since he joined. It’s vitally important to have strength in depth at the hooker position, largely due to its specialised nature. With Ethan, Dewi, Sam and Lewis all with us next season, we feel we’re in a good place in that department.”

Speaking on his move, Lewis said: “I’m happy to be able to continue my career with the Ospreys. I’ve enjoyed my time here so far and the boys have all made me feel welcome since I joined.

“There’s some great players in the hooker position here and we’re all pushing each other to be the best players we can be. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do as a team this season.”
