Enjoy a family fun day at the Russia game

Ospreys bosses have confirmed that the pre-season fixture against Russia on Sunday 21st August (KO 3.00pm), has been designated a family fun day, with a host of pre-match activities taking place, all covered by the admission fee of just £1 for kids, £15 for adults.

The region will welcome the Russian World Cup squad for a historic fixture, only the second time ever that the Ospreys have face a national team, in an important pre-season fixture that will provide a final test for Scott Johnson’s team ahead of the new RaboDirect Pro12 opener against Leinster at the start of September.

With the school holidays in full swing, parents looking for things to do will be pleased to discover that in addition to 80 minutes of first class rugby, the cost of the ticket will also allow access to a family village pre-match, where there will be fairground rides, rugby themed inflatable’s, children’s entertainers, face painters and a visit from the players, while refreshments will also be available – which adds up to a fun-packed afternoon of entertainment and unbeatable value!

Ospreys Managing Director, Roger Blyth, said:

“We want to kick off the 2011/12 season in style with a special day out for all the family. There will be special entertainment and attractions in place to help make it a special occasion, and all the players currently with the Ospreys will also be making an appearance throughout the afternoon.

“Moving into the new season we want to establish an afternoon or evening at the Liberty Stadium for the rugby as the family event of the week. We’ve got a squad of predominantly local born players, including some exciting young talent representing their home region, and we want young rugby fans from Ospreylia to look up to these boys and aspire to one day pull on the famous black jersey.

“We look forward to welcoming families from right across the region to the Liberty Stadium for the fun day at the Russia game, and we hope that those who attend will have a great time and will want to take advantage of our Kids Go Free season-ticket offer, which allows up to four children to watch the Ospreys completely free of charge for the entire season with a paying adult.”

The family fun-day gets underway at midday, with an appearance from the matchday squad during the first hour to meet the young fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures, while non playing members of the squad will continue mingle with fans until nearer kick-off.

The fixture, and fun day, is also covered by the 2011/12 season-ticket, which is currently on sale, with prices starting at just £165 for a Category C ticket, equivalent to under £10 a game, and with up to four kids going free with a paying adult.
