Don’t miss Monday’s Earlybird deadline

Sign up for 2013/14 before 6pm Monday for the best prices

As the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office gears up for a busy weekend of activity ahead of Monday’s Earlybird deadline, the Ospreys have confirmed that season membership sales for 2013/14 are now the second highest in the history of the region.

With almost 6,000 members already signed up for next season and that number set to rise further before 6pm on Monday, the total is up by a third on the final number for the 2011/12 season and on Thursday soared past what was, until 2012/13, the all-time high of 5,493 from the 2005/06 season – the first for the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium.

Ospreys Chief Operations Officer, Andrew Hore, hailed the good news saying:

“It’s great to see supporters responding to our season membership packages in such a positive manner. We’re delighted that once again we are going to have the highest membership numbers in Wales.

“Last season we introduced the BoGoF scheme which was intended entirely to grow our support base, helping to increase attendances at the Liberty and in turn create a better matchday atmosphere to inspire the team. That was a huge success, with record members signing up and a substantial average attendance increase across the season.

“The challenge that faced us this summer was to convert as many of those free members into paying members as possible, hence the great value Earlybird renewal fee of just £99. Although it was inevitable that some would fall away the indications are that a substantial number can see what we are trying to build here at the Ospreys, can identify with our vision, and are investing in our future through a 2013/14 season membership.”

Hore added that the success of the season membership drive was down to the hard work being done on and off the field to create sustainable success for the Ospreys:

“Credit should go to both the marketing team and the rugby department within the organisation for the work that they have done, and continue to do, to create great initiatives that allow the community to really buy into what we are doing here.

“We are a community focussed business and the most obvious way that can manifest itself is by allowing the community to take advantage of such a great deal to come and support their region at the Liberty Stadium. Combined with increased levels of activity in our community clubs and the Ospreys Schools Programme, which has seen almost 3,000 children interact with the Ospreys this academic year, we are building a solid foundation for the future of rugby in this region. We look forward to seeing more of the community at the Liberty week-in, week-out next season.”

With the first game of 2013/14 at the Liberty not until the weekend of 23/24/25 August, Hore is anticipating that the membership figures will continue to rise:

“The Earlybird deadline is next Monday, there are more than two and a half months to go until we welcome Worcester to the Liberty for our first game, and we are already up by a third on where we were in the 2011/12 season which shows that we are successfully growing numbers through a combination of innovative offers and a back to basic approach which is winning support in our community.

“This coming weekend, the last before the Earlybird deadline, is traditionally the busiest of the summer at the Ticket Office so we are anticipating that this number will continue to rise as our fans look to make sure they don’t miss out on the best membership deal in British rugby.

“After the exciting Heineken Cup draw earlier this week, with Leinster, Northampton Saints and Castres in our pool, the season membership packages look even better value!”

As part of the ongoing season membership promotion, everyone who signs up before the Earlybird deadline will be entered in an exclusive members draw to win a special evening with the Ospreys’ five Lions ahead of the new season.

The Ticket Office is open for season membership sales between 10am and 6pm on Friday, Saturday and Monday, with existing 2012/13 members able to renew for just £99. For more information please visit www.ospreysrugby.com/ticketing/season_tickets or call the Ticket Office on 0844 815 6665.
